Maggie Wauklyn has cleaned houses, made smoothies, taken classified ads, arranged glassware displays, been an extra in an Opera, formatted legal notices, hand-sorted recyclables at a festival, taught college students, and bagged people's groceries. But what she likes most of all is making pictures.

Her rich, distinct work explores the line between representation and abstraction, and endeavors to evoke a grounded familiarity rather than an alienated aloofness. Her work focuses on the elevation of the mundane and the beauty in the everyday, and is heavily influenced by her interest in the natural world. She is a semi-regular contributor to Illustoria Magazine.

She is an avid birdwatcher, and a budding mycologist, and spends as much time as she can in her garden. During the pandemic she rekindled a love of photography and began to dabble in ceramics. She contains multitudes.
